We are delighted to announce that Tom Payne will be Guest Conductor and Alison Matthews will be Leader for our Spring concert. You can find more information about Tom here.

The programme will feature Cellist Mark Walkem in Haydn's 1st Cello Concerto, as well as Schubert's Symphony No.3 and Sibelius' Valse Triste.

Mark is a graduate of University of Birmingham, and Birmingham Conservatoire. He works with orchestras in the Midlands and in London. He has a special interest in early music and is involved with the University of Birmingham's Centre for Early Music Performance and Research.

At the concert he will play a Baroque cello made by David Rubio.






Telford Orchestra is Recruiting a New Conductor

The orchestra rehearses on Monday evenings and normally performs three concerts per year, covering a range of classical music from the 17th to the 21st century. We are ambitious to play to a high standard but also emphasise enjoying making music together in the local community. We always welcome new string players to the orchestra and currently also have a vacancy in the woodwind section for a First Bassoon. In addition our First Oboe player of many years is planning to retire this summer and we shall be on the lookout for a replacement."
